Astra Margarine - Better avoid it

The E-319 antioxidant substance in Astra Margarine causes brain hyperactivity in children below the age of 3, Dr. Anil Samaranayake at the Medical Research Institute (MRI) said.

Medical experts also said it causes Kidney and Neural problems irrespective of age. The use of this substance in food is banned in western countries.

They added that advertising and promotion of these dangerous food products must be banned forthwith if the country wanted to build a healthy future generation.

The Kahatagasdigiliya Magistrate ordered the manufacturers to carry the label that consumption of Astra Margarine is harmful to children below the age of 3 years.

The E-319 antioxidant helps maintain the colour of food products, perfumes and cosmetics Dr Samaranayake added.

Its not cat nap its Police nap :)

This is what people do when they are tired and sleepy. But this is not expected from a person who safe guards us, the Police. He is not allowed to sleep while on duty, you cannot give any reasons for this. Just look at the pic, his gun is fully loaded with ammos, what happens if he suddenly wakes with a sudden a nightmare? Boom Boom.... nothing more to reveal :)

You have sleeping problem? Why not cool your head first?

Chronic insomnia is a problem for a huge number of people, but new research reveals a simple way to get to sleep, without reaching for the drug cabinet. Borrowing a tip from PC case modders, researchers found that a liquid cooling system attached to people's heads seems to help them sleep.
The research was presented at the 25th Anniversary Meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies. According to the authors, one of the causes of insomnia is increased metabolism in the frontal cortex — if you cool your head down, you reduce the metabolism rate and sleep comes more easily. It's sort of like icing an injury to reduce blood flow and swelling. When sufferers of chronic insomnia wore a cap that circulated cold water around their heads, they fell asleep as fast and slept as well as people without the condition.

Unfortunately, we don't know what temperature or rate the water was pumped through, but we're sure you can hack something together. Reroute a PC cooling system into a shower cap? Or, on a more practical level, just wrap your head in cold, damp towel. Hopefully it'll be enough to push you into sleep.

How dare you reveal the secrets of ipad 2?

Three persons in China have been jailed for leaking a secret about ipad 2. It is no nonsense but highly effectively way of money making in this fast moving corporate world.

The wall street journal reports,
"The Shenzhen Bao'an People's Court, in announcing its decision, said the head of a Chinese electronics-accessories manufacturer allegedly paid a former employee and a then-active employee of Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. for information about the iPad 2 in order to produce protective cases for the device. Hon Hai, known by its trade name Foxconn, makes the iPad 2 and other gadgets for Apple in its factories in China."

It is so pathetic, how these Chinese / Taiwanese people think, oh gosh!! Three people are going to prison in sentences ranging from a year to a year and a half for helping a case-maker get a jump start on the competition. An additional fact, Hon Hai has become the world's biggest contract manufacturer of electronics in part because of its ability to protect the secrets and technology of its clients, which also include HP Co., Sony Corp., Dell Inc. and Nintendo Co.

So let me make a serious guess, this is how we get those expensive gadgets in Chinese versions in local market sometimes even before they are marketed.

Source Code - A Movie Review

This blog post is about a film I have watched lately, named “Source Code”. In fact it was after watching this film I have thought of writing about it in my blog.

It is just a normal, sci-fi, high-tech Hollywood cinema, but the matter which made me write about it was the plot and the occurrence of it. It can be classed along with “Inception” and the similar likes. It is such a movie, if it really happens in our lives, it will be more and more adjuvant to the humankind. I am pretty sure many scientific souls are researching something similar to it.

Let me write about it briefly, sure I will not write about how the film ends or express about any turning points in the movie, because I want you people to enjoy the story and twists of the film without giving you an idea of the whole movie. I think it will be welcomed amongst many movie freaks, as many of the other movie critics do not follow that thumb rule.

“Source Code” is a project, developed by a scientist, simply which can be used to access or investigate the past from the present. In this particular film that technology is used to identify a train bomber, as he has threatened the public that there will be several other bombs about to explode. So the scientist, who made the project “Source Code” uses the train scene as the past story and sends a person from the present world to the past and investigates about the bomber.

Jake Gyllenhaal plays the role of Colter Stevens the person who goes from present to the past and searches the bomber. Gyllenhaal has done really well, and he looks mature and suitable for characters like this. Some of his films like “Proof”, “Brokeback Mountain”, “zodiac”, "rendition" etc have made / earned him a good name as an actor.

The director, Duncan Jones has done a fabulous job in doing a neat, sophisticated, well accomplished work and more credits should go to him for a well explained story. This is his second major flick besides “Moon” which was his first film came out in 2009.

I rate this movie well with 4 stars out of 5. A must watch movie for the sci-fi freaks.
